We've had this card for almost 25 years and love it. We use the points on overseas travel where hotels are more expensive. We stayed a week in Rome on points. Super easy to use and great customer service.

The points are super easy to use. Sometimes you can find special deals, like a room at a decent/new hampton inn for 7500 points. Usually more like 25k for a $100 room.

Points are low

Yes, the point value is very low. 50k points gets you a $200 one night stay at a Hilton. I'll take it but I've seen better

Of all of my reward cards, this is the one I use the least, because it is useless. The points are horrible. Just google Hilton Points. They are some of the most expensive points. Any nice hotel costs well over 75k points. Go with SWG.

If this is your first AE card though it's a nice starter. Although it has the highest APR of any of my AE cards, so still not great.

Customer services are really bad, needed them in multiple of incidents and they disappointed me as usual, verbal communication is really weak, long time waiting on call, lack of knowledge, this is what you will face when you call them... I don't recommend this card at all, it is not worth all frustration you feel after calling them.
